Victor Eyo for Vice President Academics at the University of Wolverhampton. Together, we can enhance our academic experience and support fellow students in achieving excellence.
"Every individual faces unique challenges, and there's no one-size-fits-all solution. What we need is innovative thinking, and that's exactly what I'm committed to delivering."
"As a master’s student in public health, I have an unwavering commitment to enhancing the academic experience at the University of Wolverhampton. My passion extends beyond the classroom as a life coach and community advocate. I believe in the power of collaboration and innovation in academia.
Having held various leadership positions in the past including being President of the faculty of Medicine in my undergraduate days, founding the Students' Undergraduate Medical Research Institute which allows undergraduate students learn how to write and publish research articles, and currently the School Representative for the School of Health and Society, University of Wolverhampton, I can assure you that I understand what being a student is and I understand the importance of having a voice that amplifies yours"
"Set up for students to have a 1-on-1 10-minute session with tutors on topics they struggle with. if you can not ask it in class, you will get 10 mins to ask"
Ensure students' engagement and inclusivity through regular class drop-ins and the organising events of interest (sports competitions, DIY sessions, societies, and community gatherings).
By working closely with level representatives, course reps, school reps, faculty staff members, and management, I will ensure an open communication that allows prompt collection of feedback and timely response to said feedback.
Unlock academic potential through healthy academic competitions including debates and quizzes. Additionally, build on the successes recorded through academic coaching by initiating a student mentor-mentee program where students in higher levels get to mentor and share their experiences with those in the levels below.
To address academic concerns, I plan to establish an Academic Resolution Board (ARB) comprising representatives from diverse nationalities, well-respected within their communities. This inclusive approach will foster a welcoming environment, allowing students to comfortably share academic issues or concerns with me through a board member from their own community.
By having representatives who speak your language, understand your cultural nuances, and empathize with your challenges, we can ensure that every student feels heard and supported. This will enable students to reach out to me through any member of the board in their community, facilitating a smoother and more personalized resolution process for academic concerns.
With a proven track record of leadership excellence, having led various organisations at different levels, he offers an immeasurable wealth of experience in interfacing with diverse persons, groups and organised leadership/management.
Introducing new programs and workshops that align with the evolving demands of our academic disciplines.
Can learning be done differently, can it be more fun? well, yes it can and we intend to make it.
"The narrative has to change; we have to get more students involved; we have to create an atmosphere where students do not just give feedback but are very much certain that the said feedback will be received and satisfactorily acted upon. The students need to be confident in the process and the representation."
The plan is to restore pride among the students of the University of Wolverhampton and to make our Student Union the envy of other unions in the West Midlands, England, and beyond.
Initiate the Expanded Society Board, which will consist of all society leaders to foster collaboration between societies and encourage societal activities and student engagement. Campus really should not be empty by 3 PM. Students are young and vibrant, and I will ensure there are numerous fun activities regularly on campus.
Fostering a sense of community through academic clubs, events, and activities that bring us together. Interfaculty debates, class quizzes and other healthy academic competitions will help build an academic environment that allows student engagement and networking.
